Industries in need of foreign workers are food service, manufacturing, food and beverage, care workers, building and cleaning management, construction, aviation and agriculture.

According to Jocelyn Sanchez, deputy administrator of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), almost 345,000 foreign workers is in need to cover the labor shortage of the said country.

Workers who have worked for more than 5 years in Japan would also be allowed to bring their families and apply for immigrant visa.

POEA releases New Zealand Jobs for Filipinos this 2018

We all know that Filipinos are hardworking, productive, and with good English skills and technical skills.

This year, New Zealand offers thousands of jobs for Filipinos, especially for skilled workers. The application process is not easy which can take up to 3 months, but it's worth it when you landed a job because there's a high salary waiting for you and NO PLACEMENT FEE.

For our Filipino Overseas Workers abroad, hardworking for more than a year has an ending process. Everyone deserves to have a complete rest from tiredness of working and exhausting problems in life. We need to work for us to survive but we also need to stop from working when we know it’s over.



Well, OFWs may stop from their labors if they retire or their contract would end. But if that might happen, what happens next to their future and their family?

Here are some tips you can follow if you want to stay in the Philippines for good when it happens. Always be in mind that a comfortable life is not that easy if we won’t be clever.

1. Pay all your existing debts.

It is normal for OFWs and their family to be engaged in a big amount of debt, especially for those newbie ones. They may apply for loans in order to pay their placement fee before going abroad but as much as possible, before or after going back to the Philippines, payback them all to avoid a big interest in the end.

2. Save money.

After paying all the debts you had, it is now also the time to save money. Saving is so much important because you don’t know the future might be so if possible put in the bank at least 20% of your salary and do not use it unless it is really an emergency.

3. Live within your means.

Try to control your splendor or any extravagance. You should have to limit spending too much. We know that Filipino are sometimes fun of collections and buying everything they want but you can’t be one of them if you just only know how to resist.

4. Start a business as soon as possible.

Even while you are still working outside the country, you can do it so. Think of a business to put up and let your family manage it in your absent until you decide to stay in the Philippines.

Be a manager of your decisions. Bring effort to do what are necessary to help your lifestyle be better after working for many years. Think more than twice and wise.

How To Renew Your Philippine Passport While Abroad?

Can I renew my Philippine Passport while I am in abroad? How long does it take to renew it? What are then the requirements? These are just some of the queries that a traveler may know about the actions to be taken. If you are one of them, focus your eyes on reading.

According to the new law signed by our dear president, the Philippine passport will now be valid for 10 years from its previous 5 years of validity. The Republic Act # 10928 that amends the Sec. 10 of RA no. 8239 or the Philippine Passport Act of 1966, states that those regular passports issued under this act shall be valid for a span of 10 years. However,  those passports which were also issued under the old law will only be valid for 5 years.



In addition, those carriers of passports below 18 years of age will be only issued valid for only 5 years and passport validity of less than 10 years may be issued whenever in the National economic interest or political stability of the country such restriction is necessary.

How about now those Filipino travelers who are in abroad especially OFWs who are about to expire their passports? Do they need to return in our country just to renew their passports? The answer is NO.

Once a Philippine Passport will expire and the holder is outside the country, they have a 1 year renewal period to process their passports. The best part then is that, even in their working place (outside the Philippines), they can now renew it.  What they just to submit are the documents to prove their identification and legality. It includes the following:

•  the latest passport you had
• accomplished passport application form from the country you are in, be sure that it is printed in blue or black ink only. 
• any proof that the applicant can provide that would say he/she has not applied for foreign citizenship, e. g.  resident alien card (green card) 
• self-addressed return envelope, with appropriate stamps for express or priority mail with tracking nos.  Via US postal service; or with prepaid mailing envelope from private courier of choice if passports is to be mailed back. 
• passport  fee of $60.00 (non-refundable), payable in cash,  or money order,  bank draft,  certified check or cashier's check made payable to "Embassy of the Philippines" (or "Philippines Consulate General; " if application is made at one of the Philippine Consulates General in the U. S). Personal checks and credit cards are not accepted."
• at least one (1) photocopy of each of the data page/s of the passport; (pages 1-3 for the brown passport or page 1 for the green passport)
• photocopy of any valid identification card where the middle name is fully spelled out: (State ID,  driver's license,  birth certificate, marriage certificate, or baptismal certificate (if applicant's passport is the brown one) 

Note that these following documents are required in the U.S. A renewal of Philippine Passports only.  Firstly, you may ask the country your residing by this time if you need to prepare them.  There might be documents which were added or lessened so be sure to check.

The process of renewing the said passport is by visiting the Phil.  Embassy in your host country and submit the documents to the consulate general. He will be the one in charge in notifying the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila about it and it will take approximately 8 weeks for your passport to be process completely.



If your option is to personally claim your passport, you can't include the 4th requirements  from the list above.  However, if you're not around in the deadline time to claim your passport, you can assign somebody to get it in the Philippine Embassy. He/she must only present the authorisation letter signed by you,  your old passport, your valid ID photo,  and valid ID of the claimee as well.

New Multi-Purpose NBI Clearance Can NOW Use in Any Transaction!

The new featured National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance has been released and is now “multi-purpose” since we can use it for any transaction here in the Philippines if required, as well as in abroad.

The said clearance is amounting to Php115 per copy and was started to release in public by the NBI office last October 2. This clearance can be utilized in a job application, gun licensing, acquiring a visa and for travel abroad.

According to Atty. Dante Gierran, the current NBI Director of the Philippines, this action was taken to address the mandate of our Pres. Duterte in simplifying the transactions in the government. As we all know, in our every transaction to NBI before in applying for clearance, we are only allow to put one purpose in every clearance and it’s really irritating because we can’t longer use it to extra transaction in other agencies but now through this response, it will lessen the hassle in our part as client. We can save more money, effort, and time in only one transaction in the said bureau.

The multi-purpose clearance has a validity of one year and you can renew it once you reach its expiration date. One thing more, if the person was hit or has the same name in the records of the National Bureau of Investigation who has a criminal record, the processing of his clearance is now easier and convenient since he only needs to appear once in the NBI office to clarify the issue without any charges.  According to Att. Yap in an interview, the first thing to do if you encounter a problem like this is you need to know the case. During the interview, it will be determined if indeed it was you. If there is a doubt, you will need to secure then a clearance from the court to prove that it was not you.

Of course, I know you don’t want to be one of them.

If you feel that your daily life is miserable, prepare your plan to start looking for another journey. It’s all about discretion.  If you feel stagnant and not productive in your work because you feel boredom at all times, if you feel that your boss is abusive, terrible and demanding, if your skills are no longer in used because you are over qualified for your position, if your company has no future because for the succeeding years, they may be bankrupt and if a greener pasture knocks on your door then take it. Do not waste your time, grab it while the iron is hot. Do actions which you believe it will lead you to happier, simple but contented lifestyle.
